It is absolutely hilarious to me that the price is down today. They missed guidance by 5 cents, bringing 66 cents per share. This is an 11% quarterly increase, when two other major banks reported 2% decreases.

Do not be sheep. Buy on what's making money, not what the analysts try to tell you.

Ok so today some random report comes out saying that there are a few companies that *might* be candidates for leveraged buyouts. One of them is Countrywide Financial. Guess who's stock is up 6% today?

If you are thinking of buying, it's still a good price, but I'd say wait a day or two for the price to come back down, or even short sell it today. ( Read more... )

A couple of quick updates here. Morgan Stanley closed the Government Trust fund that I had invested in, they're combining those assets into another open ended fund that they run. Unfortunately this means you can no longer buy it through Sharebuilder. What's going to happen with my investment, is Sharebuilder will sell the holdings and just cash out ( Read more... )
